Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Breakfast & Program

Central United Methodist Church, 16 School Street, Middleboro would like to invite everyone to a special Martin Luther King, Jr. Day breakfast & program - Monday, January 21, 2013. Breakfast served at 8AM (free will donation) with program beginning at 9AM.

Few people have made waves that have changed the world for good as the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

50 years ago this year he left the planned script and began with the words, "I have a dream..."
In some ways that dream has been fulfilled. In other places we have made progress. There is and always will be the dark places in peoples souls that will creep out to consume this living vision of light.

Join us as we remember the man and his dream. Professor Henry Santos will share some of his experience of "Martin". You see, he was his roommate at Boston University in the 50's. Mr. Santos served for many years as a music teacher and piano instructor at Perkins School for the Blind. Through his work there he became very aware of how the American Disabilities Act was directly modeled after the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

The event is hosted by The United Methodist Youth Fellowship.

At 9 AM we will gather in the worship area for Service of Remembrance with our guest speaker, special music, and a call to keep the dream alive. We will have an offering to speak to his unfinished dream of ending poverty.

Please call 508-947-1299 or e-mail middleboromethodists@verizon.net to let us know you are coming.
