Deer Ticks: One Bite Can Change Your Life

Did you know that Plymouth County has the third highest incidence of Lyme Disease in the Commonwealth? Do terms like Lyme Disease, Babesiosis and Anaplasmosis scare you? The good news is that tick-borne diseases are completely preventable.

Join the Middleborough Public Library on Wednesday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m., for this important informational program presented by Larry Dapsis, an entomologist who serves as the coordinator of the Deer Tick Project for the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension, and a Middleborough resident.

The program will review the basic life cycle and ecology of deer ticks, incidence rates and distribution of tick-borne illnesses. Dapsis will present a three-point protection plan: protect yourself, protect your yard, and protect your pet. He also will answer questions from the audience following the program.
