A Most Delicious Fundraiser!

We had so much fun at our Farm to Table Dinner last year that we are chomping at the bit to do it again! Mark your calendar for Saturday, July 8th from 5pm till 8pm. We are excited to work with the talented chefs of The Tasty in Plymouth that will be preparing a full-on, nose to toes culinary adventure from pigs that are being raised here on site. In addition to pork, we will be offering vegetable side dishes also grown here by Farmer Dave Purpura of Plato's Harvest and locally brewed beer from our good friends at Mayflower Brewery. Simpson Springs of Easton will provide water and old-fashioned soda. We will also enjoy music from local favorites, The Lindsays. It promises to be a wonderful true farm-to-table (or Farm to Tasty!! as we are affectionately calling it!) with all proceeds benefitting the programs of Soule Homestead Education Center.

Tickets are $100 per person until July 1st. After July 1st, the price will jump to $125 so buy them early before they sell out! We hope to see you and we appreciate your support.

Craft, Create, Construct: Building Community

Put on your DIY hat and join us for "Craft, Create, Construct: Building Community @ the Library!"

To kick off our annual Summer Reading Programs, patrons are encouraged to stop by on Sat., June 17, during opening hours, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., where you can craft, create and construct. There will be Lego building, knitting and quilting, and woodworking, with the last activity start-time of 2:30 p.m. Participate in each station to earn a chance to win a prize, including a Lego set (donated by the Friends of the Middleborough Public Library), a plaque with your name on it for the Library's new birdhouse, (made and donated by Library Head of Circulation Melissa Guimont) or a beautiful quilted wall hanging (donated by the Water Street Quilters of Middleboro).

There will be a community-wide Lego build, where patrons can add one piece or an entire building to the group project. In addition, ardent fans of Lego minifigures are invited to stop by between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. to trade minifigures with other fans. The first 50 participants will receive a free minifigure to take home.

Register for a summer reading program (children's, teen or adult) at stations on each floor, and be automatically entered in a raffle to win one of six $10 Dunkin Donuts gift cards.

The Library will be open for normal business during this free event, and all ages are invited to attend.
Online and in-person registration opens Sat., June 17, and programs run through Thursday, August 31, 2017.

For more news and information about summer reading programming and events, check this newsletter, call 508-946-2470, or visit the library's website (www.midlib.org), Facebook page or the Middleborough Gazette.
