What is carbon pricing?

And How Can It Help Us in Massachusetts?
with Dr. Marc Breslow of Climate XChange

Soule Homestead Education Center
46 Soule Street, Middleborough
Monday, September 25, at 7:00 p.m
Since the U.S. withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord this year, climate action has fallen to the states. Massachusetts state legislators have stepped up with two bills that put a price on carbon emissions from the fuels we use. No state policy is as effective at reducing the gases that cause climate change. Hear how Massachusetts citizens can seize one of our best chances to lead on climate policy. All are welcome.

This talk is cosponsored by the Climate Justice Group of the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleborough as part of its speaker series, and by the Soule Homestead Education Center.

North Congregational Church to Host Roast Beef Supper

On Saturday, September 16, North Congregational Church will host its first Roast Beef Supper of the fall season. The traditional family-style suppers have been hosted at the local “Yellow Church” through the generations. An all-you-can-eat delight, they continue to be a crowd pleaser for the thousands of guests who have been treated to the suppers over the years.

From sumptuous, slow-cooked roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables and cole slaw, to moist honey corn-bread and rolls, the supper is topped off with tea, coffee, cold drinks and a seasonal dessert.

A long-time guest at the traditional church supper recently stated, “I’ve been coming to these suppers for years – it’s still the best and most delicious deal in town!”

The Saturday, 9/16, supper will have two separate sittings – the first at 5:00 p.m., and the second at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are just $14 per person, with a discounted rate for children 12 and under at just $7. They may be purchased by calling Jane Bagdon at 508-947-4715 or Sue Dickow at 508-326-4446. North Congregational Church is located at 38 Plymouth Street in North Middleboro – and is accessible to all. Parking is available in the church lot or around picturesque Titicut Green.

For more information about the United Church of Christ parish, please visit or on face book at North Congregational Church UCC, Middleborough, MA.
